"Popular with boys"

I wanted to comment on Ps blog but then I realized that the comment would be too long so I'm writing a response instead.

So the subject is popular with boys, and the individual is L.R.

First off, asking a boy out is always a bad idea. The only way you're gonna get anything out of him is if he really wants to be there with you, he needs to think it's his idea. You can take initiatives to get to know him, of course, but you need to always make sure he wants you more than you want him.

And then there are different ways of being popular. Boys may want you, as in, they want to be around you, be seen with you, they're proud to be your friend or whatever more. And here comes the "but": Buuuut... that's not the only way to be popular with boys. Seeing as how most boys are assholes, the more common way of being approached is the don't-tell-anyone way. As in, he only wants to sleep with you and then run off. If you get into that, please be aware that you'll get hurt.

My point is, it flatters me when other girls ask how I always have some boy, and H once asked me how I get boys to tell me they love me to the left and right, but it's so tiring because it's fake.

So remember that popular with boys isn't at all as good as having one boy who likes you and more importantly: who you like back.
