Paradox to my disadvantage

I know I wrote  post about the different types of relationships at some point.
I said something about unofficial relationships and why guys might want that. Basically, there are two reasons: They either want to fuck around or are ashamed of you. These are also, in a way, advantages, because you can have someone to rely on without having to deal with the social pressure and you're basically free to hook up with whoever you want.
Commitment is something else, being in a real relationship. You let the world know you're together, on all aspects -  that includes being exclusive.

Me, I don't like public displays of affection, all the romantic stuff and most of all, I like being able to flirt. I can be in a relationship, but it's a restriction to me. I get to feel that someone loves me and that I'm the most important thing in someones life, but I also have to refrain from certain comments and glances directed to other boys.

Why the hell would anyone ever want an exclusive, non-official relationship? You're staying faithful but you don't get to show it off. What is the point of that!?
If you read the first paragraph again you can draw your own conclusion as to why he seems to want this.
